Dear Friends,
in order to make it easier for my American friends to read this article I am going to write it in english. Please use google translate for french . (Afin de faciliter la lecture de cet article pour mes amis américains, j'ai décidé de l'écrire en anglais)
On a freezing Saturday morning, we decided to discover Cape Ann (a.k.a the other Cape) with a friend. Cape Ann is located north of Salem and east of Beverly. It offers great exposure to the Atlantic and is conveniently surrounded by water from almost all directions. Navigating to Cape Ann from Bedford was quite easy. Aboard the East Coast AeroClub Tomahawk (N2503V) we took off from BED and headed east. To stay outside the B Airspace, we maintained an altitude of 2700-2800 ft. I find it quite convenient to contact Boston departure for flight following given the busy nature of the area and the presence of many airfields. It is also quite useful to stay north of the I-95 to avoid the 2000ft floor of the inner section of the B airspace.
You'll find hereafter a GPS tracking of our flight :
